walks on the beach
design | art direction | photography
Swim is such an emotional purchase. The first thing someone notices is the artwork. Then the details, features, and fit. I wanted to elevate the experience. Instead of using loud, expected colors, I reimagined the classics. In this case, a foliage on a teal base with a mix of muted and rich tones. It’s not your typical bright poppy swim trunk, but it still makes a statement.
What I learned is that swim doesn’t have to be loud. Sure there’s a customer for that. However, some guys just want a great short they can style in multiple ways for different occasions.
The details matter. From the color of the zipper, to the contrast lining, the drawcord and the material of the aglets. If my goal was to make a swim trunk feel elevated, I had to be very intentional with even the smallest details.
I love being able to create thoughtful designs that look expensive but at a compelling price point. That’s what I consider “value”.
Where design meets functionality. It’s not enough to make something look nice. It has to function properly for the end use. I love the reaction I hear when someone discovers that the trunk has a built-in liner. It’s those thoughtful features that make a garment more wearable, more versatile. He’ll not only feel stylish but comfortable and secure for those long walks on the beach.
